Frequently Asked Questions
Please fill out our Volunteer Inquiry HERE. We can then schedule you to come in and get set up to become a volunteer.
If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent or guardian on site during all volunteer hours.
Maybe. We do often accommodate court-mandated service hours depending upon the charge(s). Those with charges that may negatively impact the safety of staff and other volunteers (including minors) or that could negatively impact operations and property will be denied.
We regularly utilize students as volunteers based on availability of shifts. However, all volunteers under the age of 18 currently must have a parent/guardian on site during those hours. We are working hard to create other opportunities that can be done off-site.
Possibly. We have a small facility and can only allow so many people in our buildings per fire code so it can be difficult for us to host larger groups. We recommend that you contact us at least a month ahead of time to discuss and plan.
Volunteer Roles and Opportunities
This is not an all-inclusive list of every potential volunteer activity. If you have an idea that is not on the list, please reach out to us.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: sweeping/mopping kennels, wiping down kennel walls, refreshing water bowls, changing any soiled bedding, and helping with the morning feeding routine.
Requirements: A willingness to clean up dog mess. Please note some dogs are very tidy and don’t require much clean-up; other dogs may be messy or still working on potty training. It all depends on the dogs we have in our care at the time of your shift. The physical ability to go up and down a few steps (there are three down to the kennels).
